We believe that God has created us to be in relationships with one another in which we fully know and are fully known. We believe this is a reflection of the relationship that Jesus has with us. He wants to fully know us and for us to fully know Him. The way we go about fostering this type of community is through Soma Groups. Soma Groups is the space where we have the opportunity to take our relationships with one another beyond the Sunday gathering. it is within these groups that we will find our tribe and do life with one another. Called to Belong Church membership is often thought of as a log of names or a directory. At Soma Church, we believe it is so much more than that! Church membership is the means by which our pastors faithfully shepherd the church and serves as a gift to the congregation for the protection of their souls. Hebrews 13:17 says this… “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.” It is imperative that pastors know who they are responsible for and for members to have shepherds who lead them and protect their souls.
